Harvey and Mike finally get together, and everything is great right up until they're about to have sex. Mike gets all jittery and shaky and starts to either freak out/check out. Harvey picks up on it and stops. He can tell something's wrong but he doesn't know what. He tells Mike they can stop, and at first Mike tries to convince himself and Harvey that everything's fine and he can keep going (because he wants this, and also maybe he's a little scared that the infamously sexual Harvey won't want him if he can't seal the deal). Finally it becomes apparent that Mike can't go through with it and Harvey puts his foot down and stops what they're doing. Mike's all ashamed and distraught and angry at himself. Harvey gently pushes him to talk to him and tell him what's going on. Eventually Mike admits that he's got some sort of sexual trauma in his past, but he's vague about it. Harvey is awesome and understanding and reassures Mike that they can take things slow and Mike can set the pace. What I'd really love is Harvey being awesome and totally cool with taking things slow, and also protective and caring of Mike. I'd love Mike to slowly feel comfortable in telling Harvey about whatever happened to him and gradually getting more comfortable with the physical aspect of their relationship. Author can pick the trauma (childhood sexual abuse, rape in college, etc - just nothing terribly recent so that Mike has at least worked through the initial immediate trauma stage). What I DON'T want is the Magical Healing Penis fic, where Mike tearfully reveals his trauma and then Harvey fucks the PTSD out of him and sex is wonderful and free of triggers from that day forward. Speaking from experience, it unfortunately doesn't work that way. I'd like to see a gradual advancement with Mike's comfort level, but maybe little set-backs every once and a while. It would ROCK if Harvey basically lets Mike take total control of what they do in bed so that Mike guides the pace and feels safe. IDEK. I just want fic dealing with PTSD!Mike and the realities of trying to have a relationship with the big nasty cloud of past sexual trauma hanging over your head, and awesome!Harvey being unexpectedly great about the whole thing.
